Experiencing the Varjo XR3 headset at their Oslo Office

I recently had the opportunity of experiencing the Varjo XR3 headset in a more relaxed setting at their Oslo office. First time I tried the headset was in London and I could not fully appreciate the capabilities.

I am now increasingly convinced that headset like Varjo fill the gap for business workflows which consumer headset may not be ideal for. The various aspects of comparison are the resolution, tracking of gaze (data is available) , new kind of gestures one can define with eyes to zoom in or zoom out, availability of lidar cloud point.

I guess in future it maybe possible with such headsets to acquisition of 3d models / world model in the real time instead of a broken workflow where acquisition of 3d models happen first and then they have to be imported.

What Varjo needs is a strong developer community approach to engage the bright minds to build killer applications.

I am super interested in defining the local reference of an object of interest in a shareable format such as a URL / link. This may allow collaboration with humans as well as with the robots tomorrow. Think of this usecase as an office manual you are writing for a new employee to tell them how to use the printer. So, you include a link which takes them to the printer room and maybe even precisely pointing to the button you have to press to order prints.
